Serving the Front Range community
The Team Evergreen Trailblazers thank Kim Frederick, the Trails Supervisor for Jefferson County Open Space, for the invaluable input he has provided for our trail projects in Buffalo Creek Recreation Area over the course of several years.
Our gratitude was marked on Thursday, February 4th, 2010, at a meeting of the Open Space Advisory Committee, when board members Mark Spurgeon and Paul Murphy presented an award to Mr. Frederick.

Kim has been involved with JCOS for over thirty years, establishing and maintaining almost 200 miles of trails on JCOS properties. His expertise is recognized nationally, and his services have been sought outside the United States as well, including participation in projects in Lebanon, Italy and Mexico. Additionally, Kim is a Master Instructor with the Outdoor Stewardship Institute, a program associated with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado. In this role, Kim has provided training for many, if not all, of the Trail Crew Leaders engaged by the Trailblazers for the direction and management of the volunteers who graciously donate their time and energy to our Trail Day efforts.
Kim's contribution to the design and planning of our projects, including the "Redskin Creek" and "Nice Kitty" trails in the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area located in Pike National Forest, has been invaluable to the Trailblazers and our volunteers. His consultation has been donated, chiefly on personal time, sometimes on short notice. Kim's constructive and judicious manner has earned great respect from each member of the Trailblazers' organization.
The Trailblazers extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kim for his contribution!
